The new year brought some big changes for Kenect as we packed up and moved into our new building.
After a few minor delays, Kenect officially made the move on January 3rd. It took a lot of planning behind the scenes, but everyone seems to be settling in nicely to the new space.
One of the main reasons for the move is growth. Kenect is one of the fastest growing companies in Utah and was recently honored by Utah Business as the one of the best companies to work for in the state.
The first big change is the sign on the outside of the building. The Kenect logo is now visible from the freeway, something we did not have before.
Inside the building, the new space is more than double the size of the old space, and its already filling up fast.
For now, we are set up on the first of two floors we will eventually occupy.
The first thing you notice when you come to visit is the giant Kenect logo greeting you as you step off the elevator. Its set up around a meeting space with couches for people to hang out.
As you move further into the building, you will see a lot of light. There are floor-to-ceiling windows surrounding the entire floor, allowing the sun to shine in, and for employees and guests to look out on the mountain scenery.
Another feature that ties into the community is that each conference room is named after a Utah ski area. Everything from Alta to Snowbird.
Smaller meeting rooms also have unique names. Each is named after a Utah national park.
The bigger conference rooms are all set up with some of the latest technology, allowing people to hold meetings, or create a temporary office space for remote workers.
In addition to the added conference rooms, we have doubled our main gathering space. With the large windows and the warm environment, it’s a great place for people to eat lunch, or to hold our company meetings.
For people who want to unwind, there are several new areas to try out.
The Kenect Arcade is equipped with several familiar favorites. Team members can test out their skills at Street Fighter or NBA Jam, just to name a few.
There is a space set up with Corn Hole and Mini Golf for people to use. We have also set up some game tables for anyone who needs a break.
Some of our sales teams have already set up a few friendly competitions in the new gaming areas.
There are still a few minor tweaks to be made, but overall, this place is starting to feel like home.
We may have moved buildings, but the friendly and welcoming environment at Kenect has not changed. These improvements will only add to the already glowing recognitions Kenect has received.
