Kenect is growing fast, and as demand for business texting grows, we are adding more people to help meet the needs of our customers.

For the second year in a row, we were honored as one of the top 500 fastest growing companies in North America according to Deloitte, growing nearly 500 percent in the past year.

Also, for the second year in a row, Kenect was added to the Inc. 5000 list, recognizing the growth we have experienced over the past year. According to the list we are now the sixth fastest growing company in Utah.

As we continue to grow at Kenect, we wanted to take some time to introduce you to some of our team members. This week we are introducing you to Alison Pickett.

What is your role at Kenect?

VP of People.

What is your favorite part about Kenect?

Kenect is special in so many ways it’s hard to narrow it down to one thing. I am going to give you my top 3:

Great Culture:  I love that Kenect has a positive and supportive work environment where employees are valued and appreciated. Watching the teams show up for each other personally and professionally is amazing to witness.

Challenging work: The work at Kenect is exciting. It provides challenges which in turn provide opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Opportunities for Advancement:  I am lucky enough to be the one that gets to announce all the promotions that happen every month in one of our all-hands meetings. Seeing the opportunities that people have to advance in their careers and take on new responsibilities makes my heart happy.

What have you learned during your time with Kenect?

On your first day at Kenect during new hire orientation, there is a section where we share advice from our amazing CEO, Shaun Sorensen. My favorite piece of advice for new hires is “You are a blank canvas at Kenect. Decide now what you want to be known for.” Kenect is a place where you can show up and be the best version of yourself. You don’t have to be perfect you just have to show up and give it your best!  You can really step and own your career here.

What is your favorite activity?

I love any thrilling adventure that gets your heart pumping. I am always up for trying something new!

What is your favorite movie or TV show?

I love all series like Game of Thornes, Yellowstone, Ozark, and of course The Office.  

How do you like to spend your free time?

When I am not at work you can find me hanging with my kids, grandkids, and pugs (all 3 of the little terrors). I love movies, traveling, going to the gym, and all the hippy dippy things I can find!

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go, and why?

I would love to see so many places. Traveling to see the Northern Lights and snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef stand out. Hitting a bucket list moment of visiting Costa Rica in March!
