We have some exciting news to share. Kenect has just added a new Broadcast Messaging feature to its texting platform!
This is something our clients have been asking for, and we are now able to deliver it to them.
What this means is businesses who use our platform will now be able to message large groups of customers all at once! This will dramatically change the way businesses communicate important information and cut down on the time employees spend on customer interactions.
There is a lot to cover with this new Broadcast Messaging feature, so we sat down with V.P. of Customer Success, Ryan Browne, to go through the basics, and some of the highlights of what this new function has to offer.
Broadcast Messaging "How to" Guide
Q: What is broadcast messaging?
Broadcast Messaging gives you the ability to conveniently send a text message to groups of your customers of any size. Within Kenect, you now have the ability to create custom groups – either by selecting current contacts who already reside within your Kenect account, or by uploading a CSV list. You can then create and send a message to all contacts in that group via the Broadcasts feature.
Q: How is it different from the current text messaging feature?
Traditionally, Kenect only allowed 1-to-1 texting. Our platform supported conversation and interactions between businesses and their consumers. With this new feature, we’re introducing Broadcasting as another option to conveniently interact with many consumers all at once.
Q: Why did Kenect decided to add this feature?
We listened to you! Many Kenect users requested the ability to communicate via text at scale. After doing our homework, we created a best-in-class product that provides the personalization of a one-to-one message and the efficiency of a mass communications system.
Q: How does it work?
To begin using Broadcast Messaging, you’ll need to first upgrade your Kenect account. You’ll then want to create custom groups that target specific segments of your clients. For example, maybe you want to communicate something to everyone who did business with you last month. Or maybe there is an event you want to inform a group of individuals about. Create groups that match the demographic of those you would like to share your message with. Once those groups are created, it’s time to create and send your message! You’ll simply choose the group that you want to send the message to, type the message you want to share with them, and send it (or scheduled it to send)! It’s pretty easy!
Q: What does it offer to businesses?
The benefits for businesses are many:
o Sending broadcasts to consumers is much quicker and cheaper than other traditional forms of marketing.
o You can target very specific segments of your customers with messages that are both relevant and timely
o Your messages will be read – 98% of all text messages are read within 3 minutes
o It allows you to communicate at scale regarding events, announcements, promotions, changes, etc. – the possibilities are endless!
Q: Are there any other interesting additions to this new feature?
Consider the cost and time spent on other forms of marketing communications: Direct mailers; emails; social media ads; phone calls; etc. While all of these have their benefits, none of them can compare to the scalability and effectiveness of the most broadly used communication method – text messaging. Broadcast messaging is the most effective and efficient way to share a message with a specific group of individuals.
