Kenect Employees Reflect on Independence Day

4 min. read

Kenect, like most businesses, observes the 4th of July holiday, but for many its more than just a day off.

In just the past year, Kenect has expanded its product and its workforce. As more people learn the value of texting, more businesses are turning to Kenect to help set up a platform that is simple and convenient for their employees and customers.

With more people added to the Kenect team, we wanted to give them a chance to share what Independence Day means, and what plans they have for the holiday:

Deanne Blackhurst – Customer Success Manager

I know this seems a bit corny, but every time I participate in a flag raising on the 4th  of July, or when the flag bearers come down the street in a parade and everyone puts their hand on their heart as it goes by, I get teary eyed. Despite all our difference in politics and policies, I always feel so proud when everyone around me is showing honor and respect for the flag and the country it represents.

Steven Perez – Customer Success Manager

For me, Independence Day allows me to reflect on how blessed I am to live in this country.  It’s diverse in beauty and people which creates so many experiences for me and my family.  I love my country, and Independence Day helps me remember why I love it.

Thomas Newton – Dealer Customer Success Manager

Independence Day is about liberty. Freedom was not the natural circumstance for people and the Declaration of Independence was a pivotal document in history which challenged the political norms. I celebrate the 4th of July by reading the Declaration of Independence with my family and reappreciating all the happiness and satisfaction personal liberty has provided me.

Ben Hanks – Engineer

It’s not fashionable to say anymore but I love our country. I don’t love it because I think its perfect. I love it because it was founded on world-changing ideals and working towards those ideas has enabled countless people to live better lives.

Brett Anderson – VP, Customer Success

Courage and commitment to relentlessly work to realize an inspired vision.

Cole Herman – Customer Marketing Manager

To me, the 4th of July marks our day of Independence and Freedom from England. The Declaration of Independence is what severed the ties between England and the US, allowing us to be independent and free. Having lived outside the US for a few years for a portion of my life, I have a unique understanding of our freedoms and how blessed we are to live where we do.

On the 4th of July, I love to spend time with my family, golf, light off fireworks or watch a firework show if there is one nearby.

Jacob Bopko – Sales Development Representative

What does the 4th mean to me? Freedom. Nothing better than living in a country that provides as much freedom as America.

What do I like most about Independence Day? I enjoy spending time with my family, watching fireworks, and being outside all weekend.
