West Central Equipment's relationship with John Deere dates back to 1938, when Fred J. Slezak started a dealership in New Alexandria in the basement of a chicken coop. Fredrick's son and current President, David, took over in 1980 with the single location until 2007. As of April 2017, West Central Equipment opened their 5th location, located in Ebensburg. Their 5 locations serve 18 counties in Pennsylvania, Northern Maryland, and West Virginia.
